The Lightning Thief

I'm not really far in this book, but what I can say about it is that the first thing it says is "I didn't want to be a half-blood." First, I'm thinking to myself, "What in the heck is a half-blood?" Is a half-blood like half human and half another creature? The book is a really good book, but when they start talking about mythology it's a little confusing. When I read this book I'm always wondering things. For example, "what does this word mean? Or, "How do I pronounce these unusual names?" I would rate this book an 8 because I'm not far in the book, so I don't know much about it yet.

No Dogs Allowed

I am not that far in the book, No Dogs Allowed, but my feelings about the book are that I don't really get it. When I saw the book I thought it would be about a puppy that was a stray, a family adopts the puppy, the family is really mean to the puppy, and the puppy escapes and goes through happy and hard times in the wild and, at the end, it finds a nice family. But that was my  imagination.  In reality the book is like a commercial that keeps showing the same commercial over and over again and I just wanted to fall asleep, and I don't even get the commercial.

The Drinking Gourd

In the book, I was always wondering things like, "Are they going to make it?  Are they going to get caught?  Will they die?"  The Drinking Gourd  is based on a true story. It happened a long time ago when blacks were slaves. If you are studying about the Drinking Gourd, or you are singing a song about it in music class like our class is, and you want to learn what your singing about, then read this book. There is a song in the back of the book of what the slaves sang when they were trying to get away called "Follow the Drinking Gourd."

Sam Is Not Afraid Of Anything

I read this book about this wolf and a dog. The wolf is named sam and you know from the tittle that he is not afraid of anything. The dogs name is nick and he is afraid of a lot of things. " First of all, I am thinking how did they ever think of the main charcters being a wolf and a dog." Second "Why did they pick the wolf to be the one that is not afraid of anything and the dog that is afraid of "everything" isn't that wierd." Well at the end it will give you suprise.I would rate this book a 6 because it is a little strange for me.

The BFG

There is a giant named BFG. I was wondering What BFG stands for. I tried to figure out what starts with a B,F, and a G My first guess was Big Frightening Giant. My second guess was Bored Fighting Giant. My third guess was the Big Firendly Giant. If you want to know which name fits him the best you will just have to read the book. I would rate this book a 9 because I want to be precise. Not all books are 10. I would recomend this book if you like heart warming, and funny books then you would like the BFG.

Sheep and Goat

If you saw a book called Sheep and Goat would you want to read it? I thought that sounds like a stupid book. Then when I picked it up and read the first page I said wow this book is actually good. Now I learned two things when I read this book. The first thing I learned was this sheep was really rude to the goat and they went through problems like people do. They show how they would solve it and I was thinking "you know this really makes you think of your life and your own problems". The second thing it taught me was that you never judge a book by its cover or its title. I rate this book a 7 because it kind of gives you help on your life.

Life of Pi

Life of Pi is a great book. When I was reading there is a part where Piscine (Pi for short) is stranded on the boat and a turtle swims by and he grabs it and cuts his neck to kill it. I was wondering when I read this part, well first I was grossed out, if he would just eat the fins and the head? This might not want you to read this book but there are sad, happy and weird things too. When I was reading this book I had questions like why did the ship sink and why was Pi the only human survivor? These questions make you more and more interested, well for me it did. I would rate this book a 10 because it is exciting and very fascinating.
