Stick Figure
Stick Figure
I think this book is really important to read during this time in our 10 and 11 year old lives. It is a true story about an 11 year old girl who things she is too fat and stops eating, and develops the disease anorexia nervousa. The story behind this book is that the woman who wrote it, was looking through her old things from when she was a kid and found a bunch of her old diaries. She thought they would just be like any old diary you would read but found out that she was writing in them during the time of her illness. The reason it is important to read this book is because (mostly in girls) people at our age are pressured into looking thin and pretty. If I had to rate this book I would give it a 1,000,000,00!! (out of 10)

That sounds like a great book. The plot sounds so interesting. It would be important to read. Kids should become more familiar with those illnesses so that they can have ways to stay away!

p.s.
do you think I can borrow it?
The only problem is that Mr. Tong is borrowing it right now, but when he is finished maybe you could
ReplyDeleteI just ordered this book for the classroom, but it will probably take a couple of weeks to arrive.
ReplyDeleteThis book is very realistic and contains mature content and some foul language (the "f" word). If you are interested in reading this book, I will have it in the classroom, but I will need your parents' written permission to loan it to you.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that it's swears in it. I had no idea! Ah well, whatever.
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense though because my sister read it in 8th grade.
ReplyDeleteThe "F" word? Now I really want to read it! Just kiding. Why would you rate it a 100,000,000?
ReplyDeleteBecause being almost the same age I can relate to a lot of the things in the book, (even though I'm not anorexic) the "f" word in the book doesn't really matter, it doesn't make it a bad book.
