Protecting Marie
Protecting Marie is a book about a girl called Fanny who lives with her mom, Ellen, and her dad, Henry. Henry teaches drawing and painting at the university.
When Fanny was 11, on a very hot June afternoon, her father brought home a black labrador puppy.
At first, everything is fine. But then, after a few weeks, all you can hear around the house is: " Good God, does she ever stop barking?", "Get her off the couch, now!", and"Damn it, she's tearing around the garden again. I will not eat lettuce that's been peed on !". Henry is furious! Sadly, Nellie (the puppy) has to go.
So Fanny gets worried when, a year later, her father brings home a full grown dog named Dinner.
Fanny has to go through worries, a very faint hint of romance, a little adventure and more in this heartmelting tale.
I think this book is the kind of book you start reading, and then you can't stop until you're done. It also can have lots of ways to connect to easily.
I recommend this book mostly to dog lovers, but also to people who can't stop reading.

TTYL
This book, called "ttyl" by writer Lauren Myracle, is written all in Instant Messages and by the way it's the first book ever made in Instant Messages . The three friends that are iming (Instant Messaging) are Maddie, Zoe, and Angela. It begins with the start of their sophomore year in high school. They are normal teenagers dealing with school, boys, jobs, overbearing parents, and keeping their friendships. Maddie has the toughest job of her friends, but secretly she wants to be liked and accepted by the popular girl of the school, Jana, which later gets her into trouble. Zoe is quiet, modest, and sometimes unsure of herself. She does not know how to act when a teacher gets too friendly with her, and goes to her friends for help. And Angela is the boy-crazy friend, falling in love quickly and getting hurt.Angela is able to lend support to her friends when they need it!
I recommend this book to TEENS maybe, pre-teens. But, I am going on to read TTFN witch stands for Ta Ta for now. Hope you read this book and comment on it!
Miki Falls
Miki Falls is a graphic novel series. It's kind of like a love story. It's about two people who want to be together, but someone is trying to seperate them.
I like it because, even though it's kind of like a love story, it still has a bit of humor. And if you know me well, then you know that I love humor. That's not the only reason I like it though. I also like it because sometimes it zooms in and out on peoples faces to show their expressions and shows how they feel. And that's something you can only do in a graphic novel, or a picture book.
THE TITAN'S CURSE
THE TITAN'S CURSE is the third book in the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series. I read the first book (THE LIGHTNING THIEF) and it was great so I read the second book (THE SEA OF MONSTERS) and it was even better than the first book. Now I am reading THE TITAN'S CURSE and then it hit me every book gets better and now I am always wanting to read more and I am going crazy because I already want to read the next book. This book is the most action packed, fun to read book that I have ever read. If you like books that leave you thinking or wondering what's going to happen next then you are going to love this book. I forgot to tell you what this book is about. This book is about Greek gods like Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. This book is also good for adults because they will learn about Greek myths.
P.S. I think Rick Riordan is making a fifth book.

The Lord of The Rings, book one: The Fellowship of the Rrings
The Fellowship of the Rings by J.R.R Tolken is a great book! The main character is a hobbit named Frodo (I like him the best). This book is full of action, adventure and a bit of violence. you just want to keep reading and reading! In The Fellowship of the Rings there are a lot of weird parts, good but weird.
The Fellowship of the Rings made me feel curious, shocked, relieved and happy. It made me fell curious because you just want to keep reading and see what comes next. You'll find your self saying "one more minute" over and over again. This book made me feel shocked because some times the characters do the most shocking things. This book made me feel relieved because sometimes your in a scary moment and then someone saves the day and then hallelujah you become relieved!
I recommend this book to anyone who lives action and adventure and a bit of violence.
Brisingr
Brinsingr is the third book in the inheritance series by Christopher Paolini. This book is a great book, I like it because it is set in a world with elves, dwarves, dragons, Urgals, magic, and humans too. This book is about a 16 year old boy who works on his uncle's farm and then has many unexpected things happen to him, and he turns out much more powerful than before.
Eragon's journey across Alagësia helps him learn many secrets that were hidden from him before. All of this time Eragon is becoming stronger and stronger in the use of (something that you will find out by reading the book) so he can help save the people, with his powerful companion at his side, from their evil king Galbatorix.
I recomend this book to anybody who likes magic and adventure through a magical world.

The Golden Hour
"Poof" " Bang" " Gulp" "Crash." This story sure has a lot of action. Maiya Williams has a lot of exciting ideas. There are a lot of things going on at once in this book: an adventure in time travel, the quest for a missing person, and the search for a stronger 'self.'
When I looked at the cover of this book it didn't seem interesting, but I could feel the book saying to me "Read me, read me, read me." So I picked up the book and started reading. At first I didn't like it, but when two more characters came in I was reading as fast as I can. The real action has yet to start, though.
When I stop reading questions fill my mind. Things like: "Will she just disappear in front of your eyes?" "Why do they think they are witches?" "Are they witches?" "Will she slowly materialize?" "Will the boy feel when he is transported to a game?"
I think that Maiya William's thrilling book is packed with gadgets, excitement, and unexpected travel. This book is sure magical.

Nancy Drew The Secret of the Old Clock
As you may see I'm reading Nancy Drew The secret of the Old Clock written by Carolyn Keene. If you don't already know, Nancy Drew is a whole series of mysteries. So I recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries, did I mention that this book totally filled with action and a pinch of adventure?! Well if you choose to not to well here's is something that might change you're mind, right in the beginning BAM just like magic, it starts with action, there might be dressing up in crazy clothing or maybe following some man who gave a brown package to a man in a dark coat.
Plus Nancy Drew is a great book group meeting like talking about what is going to happen to Nancy will the man find out that she setting him up? or will Nancy get caught sneaking around the woman's house? Also when you read this book there are many cliff hangers, so just be ready to think back to one of those crazy or acting like nothing ever happened charters and relate to the one you're reading right now! something about Nancy Drew books makes me cozy and relaxed so maybe you feel the same way when you're with a fun and pumped book like this one.

The Princess Academy
The Princess Academy may sound like a very fancy, girly, book, but from what I know from my reading so far, I can tell you that it most certainly isn't. For the most part, it takes place in the mountains. The main character of the story is a fourteen year old girl named Miri. The author of this book is Shannon Hale. This book also has a Newberry Honor award.
From the cover of the book it might look like it is a very girly book, but that is not the case. I am in the middle of this book right now, and it is pretty intense. So I think that that means that it will continue to be exciting and interesting. In the book, they don't say where it takes place, but I know that the scenery is the montains.Sometimes the book is a little confusing because of the strange language. You have to kind of figure it out as you read on.
My favorite character in the book is Miri, because she is brave, honest , and extremely thoughtful. I've noticed that throughout the book she sort of keeps to herself and tends to really think things out very carefully before she even thinks aout doing them.
All in all, I think that this a fabulously awesome book that anyone could read.

The Thief Lord
The Thief Lord, by Cornelia Funke, is a good book so far. I'm only at the beginning, but it just hooks you in. It's pretty exiting, but it's hard to get whats happening in some of the parts, for example, read this sentence and see if it makes sense to you, to me it does a little: Only two people escaped from their houses to a weird place, but when they get there, they are three people all together, but the two people were alone when they got there. Over all, I think that it is a good book because of the excitement. For example, the book says:"do you think the thief lord will fill our money box?". Because who is the thief lord? And how does he fill a box with money? That's why I think its a good book and I recommend it.
The Way We Work
The Way We Work is a new book by David Macaulay. I started on it on the 5th. It is in the same series as The Way Things Work and The New Way Things Work. From the point I am at, the book looks interesting.
It is a book about the body systems and what they do. It is a book about DNA and how it helps to have it. It is a book that has a first part about atoms and molecules. It is a book for people who have never learned about any of the body's many parts, from cells to systems. I do not know much about it now because I am on page 41 out of 230.
One of the things I like about the book is the cover. The letters look like important parts of the body. For example, the W in We looks like some arm bones in the shape of a W.
Interveiws From Red Sox Nation
I like this book because of only three reasons.
- I am a Red Sox fan.
- They have had good players over the years.
- I love baseball!
The interviews in this book are good because they really dig deep and see what the players think about the Red Sox. These are some of my favorite questions: Why did they get traded? Did they like the Sox? Or when he asked Dustin Pedroia, "Do you think you deserved the MVP (Most Valuable Player)."
There are tons of great young guns that they interviewed ,and old
retired players and obviously the players now. It is a great book that I recommend.
Cover Up
Cover Up is a great book. You might think it's about a
bank robber (That is totally fine.) But it is a you guessed it football story. I really love football mysteries I've read about ten none of them were bad stories. I like this book because:
- It's a football book
- It's a mystery
- It mixes realistic with real. Example the Super Bowl is the Ravens vs the Dreams. The Ravens are real, Dreams are not.
- It's a just-right book.
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul
This fabulous book of short stories is one of the best Chicken Soup books I have ever read. even though it has some sad stories in the book.
This book has short stories so if you don't like the story for some reason, you can skip it and you won't miss any part of the book.
this book doesn't get boring because it switches to a new story after two to four pages. They can take up to about ten minuets each.
I like this book for another reason. I like it because you can start it when ever and where ever. Another is, that what ever your hobby, what ever your age and I'm pretty sure what ever your gender, there will be a book for you.
I think its cool that there are authors that aren't really authors, but yet they get published in this book. That means that I could write a true story and I might get published.
My favorite short story in this book is about a dog that these people find on the beach in Big Sur. It is very sad but its happy in the end.

A Wrinkle in Time
I am enjoying reading the book A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'engle, which by the way has the John Newberry Medal so that's probably one of the reasons I am enjoying it. I am reading the first book of four so I'm working on the series. There is really something in this book for everyone: magical creatures, time travel, old people, young people, views, a hint of romance, quotes, emotions, animals, and more. This book will show you the emotional journey of Meg, the main character and you will watch her find out who she really is. One thing I like about Meg is she has a large personality and you really never know what her reaction will be. When I first started reading the book I thought meg was my age and so was Calvin (the hint of romance) but actually they are in either the later years of Middle School or in High school. I hope anyone who reads this post will be intrigued to read the book.
