The Amber Spyglass

I am reading the Amber Spyglass, the epic conclusion to His Dark Materials, a trilogy about a girl named Lyra, and a boy named Will. It has a complicated story line,
but most fifth graders could figure it out. I thought that the first book, the Golden Compass and this book were about the same rating, around 7+, which is good... but definitely very complicated and you HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION! If not, you will most likely lose your spot in your head. (I've had that and it is not fun, trust me). This a very interesting trilogy for ages 10 and over,

And for all those Harry Potter readers, read this next.

  1. Are there any times in the book where it is so confusing that it's not really a story anymore, but it's just a bunch of words going through you're mind? Or is it just a complicated story line. When I started to read Alice in Wonderland, I only got to the part where Alice shrinks and is in some sort of ocean. The book was so confusing that I put it down really early. (That's probably not how the story goes anyway is it.)

  2. I would really like to read this book, (especially because it is the book that comes after the Golden Compass.) I am reading the Golden Compass right now. I was wondering, would this book make sense if you hadn't read the Golden Compass before? I don't usually like books that are more complicated, but i am thinking that if I read this book, it wont be that bad. Thats probably because I am really liking the Golden Compass. I wonder if they are going to make a movie of the Amber Spy Glass. I hope they do because it sounds so good. Maybe I can get my hands on this book!

  4. I just finished The Golden Compass and now I'm reading The Subtle Knife. I'm exited to read The Amber Spyglass but I've heard that it isn't as good as you would think. I was wondering if it was similar to The Golden Compasses story because The Subtle Knife's story isn't that similar to The Golden Compasses story( at least in the begining it isn't). I was also wondering if the Amber Spyglass is like a tool or some sort of object because the Golden Compass was an actuall compass in a way and I've heard the Subtle Knife is an actuall knife. Maybe the Amber Spyglass is a spyglass.
