The Rabbit-Proof Fence
I loved this story so much! It is about these three aborigeny girls that are taken away from their poor town, Jigala, and brought to a place for blacks. Then, they try to escape, and get farther than anyone that has tried before. This is because the shelter that they stayed at has an amazing tracker that finds missing people. But because Molly, (the oldest girl), is so smart, she finds a way to hide their scent. I think that the tracker was a tiny bit on the girls side. Every time he could not find a scent, he would smile and he would seem happy for them. How they got home was they followed the worlds longest fence which led them to their town. This is a really good book or movie to watch. It has a lot to do with race and how bad it was. I would give this story a 10+.

Does this book have a lot of cruelty in it? Or is it mostly just about their escape? This book seems really good. P.S. Why do you rate it 10+?
ReplyDeleteA very good movie was made from this book. It really gives you a visual sense of how far the girls had to travel. Beautiful cinematography. If you see it, make sure you watch the end credits and the special features.
