  2. I have had such a great time reading Number the Stars because I never know what is going to happen next. This book has been hard to stop reading. First someone pretends to be a dead sister that never died because she doesn't want to get taken away by Nazi's. Who would want to stop reading that? At some parts this book gets a little boring but those actually end up being important later on in the story. I think if one is Jewish they will like this book better because this book is historical fiction and most Jews know about when in history this took place. Then again, that's just my opinion. If you choose to read this book, enjoy.

  3. For book clubs I am reading a book called Number The Stars. I have never read a book like this, it is very unique.
This book is very exciting but is scary to think that all this stuff actually happened. I think if I did not have any background knowlage about this event in the past I would not get this book at all. I think that this book is a great read biut can geta little boring.
Many people would think that this would be a bad book just by reading the first few pages, I thought that and when I first started it but kept on reading and it turned out to be a wonderful book so far.

  5. In the book Number the Stars, one of the characters is a young girl, named Kirsti. As I was reading, this character reminded me of Constance Contraire from the book The Mysterious Benedict Society. These two characters are similar because they are both very stubborn and determined. Once, Kirsti's mother bought her a pair of shoes, which Kirsti hated, so she threw a fit. She was not appeased until somebody fixed it, to the way she liked. Just like Kirsti, Constance was known for being recalcitrant. Constance liked things her way. She would often pout and complain when she was served healthy food, and not stop until somebody gave her "good" food, such as candy and ice-cream. Based on their behavior, it seems like Kirsti and Constance are very spoiled and bratty. This similarity between the two girls keeps the plot interesting because you never know what they are going to do or say next.

  6. Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, is a very special book in my opinion.

When I started to read this book I felt really special because we are so lucky because they have to watch over everything and jews get killed? What is fair about that? I was very grateful that Ellen was okay. I thought is was really cool the way Ann Marie's dad showed the baby pictures and the whole family took care of Ellen and protected her. I would of done that too but it is not that easy anymore beacause we have these DNA trackers and sophisticated devises that track things.

I am very clicked to books that take place in a different time.I get to learn about there colture and there way and rules. Number the Stars takes place in 1943, when the Nazi's came to various states in Europe. I think it was really unfair how that happened. The Johansen family is Danish so this book was written in Denmark.

The eldest daughter, Annemarie's best friend is Jewish, witch is a problem. The Nazi's are looking for Jews to kill. The Johansen's have to take Ellen Rosen, Annemarie's best friend, to take care and pretend that she is in the family.

I love this book because it has so much to tell and is written so smoothly. I definitly be a page turner.
