The Little Prince (Courtney, Natalie, Chessy, Ethan)

  1. In The Little Prince, I have a lot of questions because it is a pretty confusing. One of them is, who is telling the story? All I know is that "it" is a pilot and his plane broke down and all he found was sand and a little prince. It bugs me that I can't figure it out. A connect to the pictures in the beginning of the book. Where the parents have way different thoughts than kids do. It happens again when they talk about when you get a new friend, parents have different thought than kids do. But the parents had to be kids at one point. Why do they change so rapidly? Another question I had was, when little prince asked the guy in the story a question, and knew the answer if he knew, why did he ask? So far this is a very challenging, but fun read.

  2. I am reading The Little Prince. I do not like it. It is about a man who is stranded in the desert. Some how he meets another man the size of a finger. The man nick names the short man the little prince. They talk stay in the desert for many days as the man tries to fix his plane. The little prince tells his friend stories about the place he came from. Which by the way is an asteroid the size of a house. Now that you have a little background knowledge, I will tell you why I don't like it.
One of the things I least like about this book, is that you never know how the little prince got here! The only thing that remotely tells us how he got here is that he says "so you came from the sky too?" And that barley helps us understand I mean maybe he just went "POOF" and he was here, and this is fiction so I get that. But they could at least tell us! I t isn't that I just don't like fiction, I actually love it, but when the book starts leaving out things, it looses my interest.
One other reason I don't care for this book is that we still don't know who is telling the story. I am about a third done with the book, and I still don't know! I would think that a narrator is telling the story, but it is not the right format. Also some random person keeps on saying stuff, and it would only make sense if he (or she) was the narrator. Maybe it is clear to some people, but not to me.
This is supposed to be one of the best books ever, and maybe it is, but not for me. If you like lots of mysteries, it would be a good book for you, and maybe you will think that it is one of the best books ever.

  3. The Little Prince is a book where parents don't really ask what things are they just assume that it like a hat, but it is really a boa constrictor that that just ate a elephant. The grown-ups made the child not want to become a artist. I think that is sad. When the boy was asked to draw a picture of something he never drew before he put himself down and said that he couldn't draw what he was asked to draw. In The Little Prince I was wondering what a Turkish Costume and a European Costume was because in the book a person saw a asteroid that no one had found yet and he was
dressed in a Turkish costume. No one believed him though until he said it again in a European Costume. I think that so far this is a really good book and I love how the author describes all the details. This book is really good it is like the best book ever! AWSOME BOOK!!!

  4. The Little Prince is a chapter book written and illustrated by Antoine de Saint Exupéry, also this book was actually published in french which I thought was pretty cool, in the front where the title is, under the title it said Translated from the french. So I have some questions on chapter 1 right in the beginning no one said what his name was, and after a while I thought maybe that his name was just the little prince. Another question is that on chapter one the little prince was drawing many pictures of boa constrictors, so when his plane crash (pp.6) some mysterious boy who asked for a picture of a sheep and the little prince said that he could only draw pictures of boa constrictors, does that mean he never drew another picture of another animal? On page 5 the end of chapter 1, the Little prince LOVED to draw like when he was drawing the snake he thought that maybe he can become a artist but his parents wanted him to be interested in geography, history, grammar and more and near the part where his plane crash the geography came in hand. I really thought that some of the illustrations in the book are unique and different then other pictures like on the page 14-16 when the little prince was telling this other little boy what his planet was called. The big idea so far in the book is about well it doesn't really have one Maine thing going on right now so the little prince is telling this other boy about him and his life and they're actually connecting with each other and making comparisons to themselves. I have a prediction for the remaining parts in the book, I think that the little prince and the other boy are going to fix the plane and the little prince is going to bring the other boy with him and start a new life on his planet.

  5. Unlike Chessey, I didn't care for this book... At all! It is about a little prince, who is about the size of a pencil. He comes to earth, and meets a man who is stranded in the desert. They have many adventures as the little prince tells his friend how he got here. In the end the little prince gets back home. One of the things I didn't really like about the book is that we don't know who is telling the story. Is it a boy or girl? A child or grown up? The only reason I know is because some one told me. Another thing I didn't care for is that the book was written in a very little kid format. Nothing is bad, every one is nice, and so on. But the words are very grow up. After finishing it, I still can't figure out what the intended audience for this book is. At the end of the book, a snake bites the little prince. He falls over. The next morning the body is gone. Where did it go? That also bugged me. In most books, they explain what happens after the cliff hanger, but not with this one. I didn't really care for this book, so if you are like me, and you like to have things explained, stay away, but if you like lots of cliff hangers this is the book for you.

  6. This book was a very confusing book, but it was great! I think that the author should probably explain somethings better. It was still a great book though. I LOVED IT! I loved it because it was very descriptive about things and the author made the book like it was his own life. That is why at the beginning of the book the author didn't tell who was the person that met the little prince.
The author's writing style is very amazing because he has such a good imagination. He is very good at drawing out the exciting parts. I think he is very talented.
I think that the audience for this book is kids because it is funny, but I also think that it could be for adults because at some parts it is confusing. I think it is more for kids though because it doesn't have very hard language. Young kids like 7 and under or 8 and under would read it and have fun reading it but it might be a challenge to their reading skills. Of course really young kids wouldn't be able to read it by themselves.
On a scale to 1 to 5, 1 being the worst rating and 5 being the best rating I would rate The Little Prince as a 4. I rate this book as a 4 because at parts it was a bit confusing but other then that the book was funny and kept me entertained throughout the entire book.
Even though it was confusing at parts, I loved this book a lot and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it.

  7. I was reading The Little Prince written and illustrated by Antoine de Saint Exupery. My opinion about the book was, that the book was alright it wasn't the BEST books I have read but just to say that it was a little confusing. I liked Antoine's witting because he didn't just start with a boring beginning like, once upon a time there was a pilot who liked to draw and he had a great imagination see, he actually wrote it with great supporting facts about the pilot and the prince, and other characters. I think that the audience is for 4th through 6th, because my mom read this book in french in collage so some words are a bit tricky so I think 4th grade and older. I would give this a three on a five point scale because it didn't really make me so encouraged to keep reading on when I was tangled in a jumble of words I didn't know. So even if it wasn't my favorite it was still pretty good.

  8. In my opinion, the book, The Little Prince got a 2.5. Not the worst, but not the best. I think this because, it was confusing and fantasy. I like to get the flow of the book realy well , but this book was to confusing to do that. I also don't like fantasy. Its just not my favorite.

I think the audience for this book is more adults than fifth graders. I think thats why I didn't get it.

I liked how the book had a good ending. Some books just let the book hang.

I would recommend this to a person who likes a good fantasy.
