I'm reading The Sisters Club Rule of Three by Megan McDonald. It's the second book in the Sister Club book series. The book is about the three Reel sisters and what happens when two of them try out for the same part in the school musical. Alex is the oldest sister and the actress and drama queen, Stevie is the middle sister, who is the singer in the family and Joey is the youngest sister who is a writer and artist. Each girl is different in her own way and each has her own style and talents.
I like how the author wrote the book with Stevie as the narrator, but then adds in journal entries and drawings by Joey and family plays written by Alex to show each girl's thoughts and feelings.
I connected most to the character Joey because we are both the youngest of three girls, full of energy and sometimes like to annoy our older sisters. I think most 8 to 11 year old girls would like to read The Sisters Club Rule of Three because it's a fun book to read.
I love this author's books. Yesterday, you talked to me about the similarity in the girls' names. Why do you think that they are important to the story?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing so I emailed the author to ask her. Hopefully, I'll hear from her soon.
