Y2K-9

Y2K-9, The Dog Who Saved the World is a book by Todd Strasser. Y2K was the start of the century 2000. Saying Y2K-9 out loud sounds like "Why to Canine." Pun intended, the message to Byte (the dog) was about Y2K. If you want to find out more, you gotta' read it.

Byte reminds me of my teenage cousin, but obviously, he is not a dog. They both go onto chat rooms. Oops! Gave some of the story away, but at least it's not important. They meet interesting people but they don't really know them, because they can't see them. In this story, Byte meets people who become his friends, without them realizing Byte is a dog. It's safe to say that my cousin doesn't meet many golden retrievers in a chat room.

The old lady in this story reminds me of Amanda Young in the book Honus and Me. Young doesn't do the same kind of stuff Foxybabe (the old lady) does, but they are both very old. They both get surprised as their stories develop. Byte also meets a teenager named Richgirl and a guy in his mid-twenties named Buffhunk, who help him on his adventure.

I hope some day I have a chance to solve a crime with a golden retriever!

  1. Riley,
    These names are really funky.
I especially liked the name Foxybabe.
