Marley a Dog Like No Other

Marley is a great book about a big male Labrador retriever. In the beginning of the book, there’s some stuff about the author and how when he was little, he got a dog that was perfectly well behaved and never did anything bad. After that, when he got older, he and his wife bought a dog that was “stupid” and never listened to commands, jumped on people and knocked people over. I think that it was very funny that Marley was scared of lightning and thunder but it is also sad that he is so desperate that he tries every thing to get out and then ends up with bloody paws and snout. I think this book is a great book because of how it is a true story and it shows you that l dogs are not perfect loving animals, but that some are.

When I picked the book up I thought that the book Marley was a book written from the dogs perspective and I didn’t want to read it, because I read a book from a dog’s perspective and I didn’t like that book. I wanted to find out if the book was written from Marley’s perspective, so I flipped to a page in the middle of the book and read a paragraph and it was from the man’s perspective, and luckily I read it.

  2. I really liked that book. It has a lot of emotions and it keeps me interested. While I was reading Marley I just couldn't take myself away from it! It kept me interested the whole time and there was always something funny or exciting or just plain weird! All my friends tell me something sad happens at the end but I never listened when they told people the end because for me, that just ruins the whole book! I think you should read it and tell me what you think because to me that was an amazing book. I read the book in a few days because I was constantly being a book worm with my head in the book reading every single word. I like knowing what things mean in books so I really get what's going on. And with Marley there were details and it made a really good picture in my mind about everything like the beach, I could imagine the whole thing! In parts it was like I was in the book with Marley next to his family. And in the thunder storms I could imagine the walls being scraped and I could imagine the dry, caked on blood on the tips of Marley's paws

  5. Marley a Dog Like No Other really is a cool story. I
also want to say that in the start of your post you said that when John is a kid and has this great Labrador and it was always obeying him, always being calm and never crazy, that made me really want a dog again.
Well to tell the truth when I was a baby I had a dog so it was really my dad's dog. When I read the part where John and Jenny go out to get a dog again it made me really think about a new dog.
So in the post when you said Marley was scared of lighting and thunder I agree with that, when I was reading that part I got really scared like I was in the book. I could see him in the room, everything torn up and Marley just sitting in the middle of the room acting all fine.
My favorite part in the book is when Marley stole Jenny's 18 carat diamond necklace and the only remains of the necklace is in Marley's mouth. So John and Jenny try and get the necklace back by chasing him, and then after a couple minutes Marley swallows the necklace. John has to wait for it to come out the other end of the dog. Then John has to go through the poop. They were about to give up when he found a weird looking piece of poop. So just before he went inside he found it! John recognized that it was cleaner than before and they both thought it was the stomach acid that cleaned the necklace. That's my favorite part in the whole book of Marley.
