This book is a great, interesting book because it has wonderful cliff hangers, and big old action stuffed in. It is a good story to read on Halloween, because it is a very spooky book. Avi is a super writer because he writes with a lot of suspense and mystery inside his stories.He also writes with a lot of emotion. I think Seer of Shadows is a most awesome book to read.

Seer Of Shadows
Seer Of Shadows is a great book about a boy named Horace. He is an apprentice to Mr. Middleditch. Horace helps Mr. Midleditch with his job, and in return Mr. Middleditch teaches the art of photography. One day, a black servant girl called Peg comes along and tells Horace her very rich mistress is coming to get her picture taken. When Horace tells Mr. Middleditch this message, Mr. Middleditch concocts an "evil"plan. Horace has to take secret pictures, and this plan turns into a dangerous adventure when he makes a ghost come back from the dead. This ghost has his "heart" set on vengeful murder, and Horace and Peg are the only ones who are able to stop it!

ReplyDeleteI loved the book Seer of Shadows because it is scary, interesting, and it sucks you in. Near the end of the book I couldn't wait to get to school to read some more. And when Maggie couldn't finish the rest of the book that day she asked everyone if they wanted it in the morning or afternoon and everyone wanted to read it in the morning! And when Maggie told us we had to have binder check ready and once our binders were stamped we would have to go to the rug and sit quietly. And everyone did that. The Seer of Shadows is a creepy book that keeps you on your toes waiting to see what will happen next if this will happen if that will happen. And it is mysterious and at the beggining of the book a bunch of people had theories and some of them made sense some didn't some were strange but possible and some were just plain impossible, but that is how that book is. Just impossible. But that book was always good and I think that if I read that book again that it would still be interesting. I don't know why but that book didn't seem like a regular book it seemed like it was different in an amazing way that made it more interesting.

ReplyDeleteI liked this book so much because it was so creepy and you never no what is going to happen next and what ever does happen next always creeps you out. One of all the creepy parts is when Fredricks fishing store got burned down and the the main character herd a wicked scream of a ghostly woman. And it was so fun the time the teacher read for like an hour and all the other times the teacher reads in class. This book is one of the best books I have ever read in my life. I recommend this book to any body who likes being scared.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE this book because, like the other people said it was exciting, scary, and hooks you on the minute you start. My personal favorite part is when Peg tells the story on Elenora and why she died because at was so interesting to listen to. It gave me goosebumps.
