Coraline

Coraline is a girl that moves to an apartment. In her house there is a room that has all her grandmas stuff in it. In that room there is a door that leades to a house that looks like her house. Coralin goes in the kitchen and sees a women that looks like her mother. When the women turns around the women has BIG black butten eyes.

I would not like to have another mom that has BIG black butten eyes. I would be sceared. I think Coralin is confused. I would be confused.

  2. What does everyone think about the cat?

  3. I think the cat is a sly little guy who holds secrets but doesn't let them out.

  4. Yeah, but what do you think he (she?) is up to?

  5. Hey, nice job starting Coroline for the class.

  6. I think Coraline misses her parents a lot. I think the cat is helping Coraline find her parents. I think it is weired that when Coraline & the cat go from house to house & the cat started talking. It would be cool to have a cat that talks. It would be freeky to have other parents that have BIG black butten eyes. I think know one wants to have other parents.

I think Coraline will find her parents.

  7. I think that the parent's are the people in the snow globe. Why else would the author put it into so much detail. Plus it's the only thing different in that room. I think that the Other Mother doesn't really want to get Coraline so that she can love her. I think ( and this will sound really weird) she wants to eat her. I also think that if Coraline really tried she could worm something out of the Other Father. To me the cat reminds me of that cat in Alice in Wonderland. My mental picture of it is one of those black halloween cats with the scrunched up body and the frizzly hair, with Dark Purple stripes. I think that it really isn't some thing that the Other Mother want's Coraline away from, it might be something that she got to trick Coraline. I remember reading it a really long time ago but I can't remember what happens. I think I got to scared and stopped.

  8. I kind of think the parents are the people in the snow globe too because the the author didn't discribe or say who the people were. I've read other books that mention things but don't bring them up a lot and in the end, it turned out that that thing was really important.

  9. I like Coraline becuase of the mystery. Where are her parents? I also like how it gives you more then one clue on where her parents are. The snow globe or the dark room. I hope we find out soon

  10. It's weird though, because we all think that the parents are inside the snow globe, maybe the Other Mother thought that Coraline would think so too and put a snow globe there to trick her.

  11. I agree with Annapurna and Nick about how Coraline is in the snow globe. If Coraline weren't, the snow globe wouldn't have an impact on the story.
I also think that the cat is sort of like the cat in Alis and Wonderland. I think that this story will relate to Alis and Wonderland.

  12. Yeah, just like the Alice in Wonderland cat, but skinnier. I also think that, ( have any of you ever read Spiderwicks? well I think that the stone is like that one. Where if she looks through it she has the ability to see spirits through it. But it would be interesting to find out if the Other Mother is working for someone, and that someone, wants Coraline.

  13. Anapurna, I have a question, What snow globe? I don't remeber a snow globe. And trust me, I wasn't reading my book when Maggie was reading like Ben probably was!

I do think that the other Mother is a powerful spirt that cept other spirts that arn't as powerful. I also think that the spirts in the closet are the other
mother's siblings and she is keeping them there since they could over power her if they get out and she does'nt want that. I think that that's exactly what tharer going to do, get out of the closet, free Coraline and her parents, defiet the other mother and find there homes again.

  14. Yes, I have read Spiderwicks. And the stone might be related to the one in Spiderwicks.

  15. And Izzy. The snowglobe was mentioned in the part when the other mother and Coroline were next to the mantleplace and the book said there were two people in the snowglobe.

  18. If there are only two people in the snow globe, the other mother and coraline, what about the other father? And what about the cat?

  19. I think that the person that says "Coraline" in that really weird voice behind the chair is ether her dad or her mom but i mostley think that itis her dad.

  21. I think what Annapurna said earler was true. Did the book say if she looked in the snow-globe and if she did what did she see?
    -sorry I forgot.

  22. No, it didn't. But I think it would be cool if the snow globe was like a ball that you could look through and see some different world.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Maybe the two people in the snow globe are Coraline's parents, and they are trapped there.

  24. What do you think coraline going to to do next? I mean they still have a few pages left.

  25. To bad this comenting streak is almost to its end. But like Katie said, we still have a couple of pages to go!

  26. I can't beleive that we finished Coraline.

I thought that it was really creepy when Coraline was trying to close the door and the other mother was trying to open the door. I thought that Coraline really was going to loose at that time! Isn't it wierd thought that the other mother came back for more you'd think that after she was beaten once then she would'nt want to loose anything else like a sole!
