So You Want to be a Wizard

Do you like the Harry Potter series? If you do, you should read So You Want to be a Wizard. It is about a girl named Nita and a boy named Kit who live in New York City. They are wizards in training. One day the were working on a spell and got trapped in a "darker" New York City with lots of evil things. Will they be able to escape? When I first got the book, I was excited to read it, yet I was scared. The cover has a very scary picture on the front. Since I was reading it at night I got scared and had to put a book cover over the cover. Now, since I finished the book, I am going to take the book cover off. I liked this book because I am into wizards. I also liked this book because the kids are about our age so I could relate to them a lot. I love this book and would rate this a 10. This is the first book in the Young Wizardry series so, if you like this book there are more fabulas books to read with Nit and Nita.

    I like how you give a brief synopsis of the book and then talk about how you felt when you first got the book. I think that the jacket cover was a brilliant idea!

    I would think that it would be in the contry side, but not in New York. Is the book scarry?

    Wow! That book sounds so cool! Is it scary as in when you turn the light off you would see creatures in all the shadows of your room?

    I think this book is scary but not so scary that you would see creatures in the shadows of your room. Actually, if you didn't put a book cover on then you would probably see creatures in the shadows. The story in the book is not all that scary but if you think machines are scary then the book will give you the creeps.

    I am reading this book and here is my input. I think that this book is really intense. What Emi calls "darker New York" is well I think slightly violent. Especially the creature, they sneak in to his "office" when they do that they over hear that he knows they are there, his words are, "...Akthanath, someone's soul is going to writhe for this." Because of where that was put in the text, it makes it seem he knows they are there. I don't think it is the kind of story that makes you see creatures everywhere, but for me every time a car went by I would jump to see what it was. Thankfully it was never a yellow checkered cab. Then while they are trying to find something else( I don't want to give it away) they run into a dragon. That dragon was creepy to me because of the way it talks. Here is some dialog, "Now there issss something I don't have, ssssee how it changessss. That would be an interessssting addition..." I have no idea why but for some reason that kind of talking just plain creeps me out. No lie, it seems to send shivers up and down my spine. I really recommend this book. I think because it is a good plot. It also I think in one part says the Earth is really fragile and that is true, so in a way it gets you thinking.

    If you are fond of the Harry Potter series you would be found of this series. First of all it is a series about wizardry and creatures and all that magical stuff. This book didn't bore my even for a second it kept me on the edge of my bed! So You Want To Be A Wizard is the first in the young wizards series. The two mane characters in this book are Nita a girl and Kit is the boy. They are both wizards in training. This a very good book I think that there should be more people to read this book I think that I would give this book a 9 because it was good but not life changing
